Remember that day when you first joined as a Freemason, not knowing what to expect or what it was all about? Everything seemed to go over your head, a complete mystery. In the past, few were willing (or able?) to assist you understand the origins and meanings of the ritual. But things are changing fast. A whole new range of initiatives have been launched, both from Grand Lodge and Provincial Grand Lodge, to ensure you get the best out of your membership of this ancient and honourable fraternity. First there was the Mentoring Scheme, providing new bretheren with a consistent source of help and guidance through their initial years in the Craft. Although still in its early years, this is working well. Now there is a whole new push in the Province of Northamptonshire and Huntingdonshire to improve masonic education, to assist brethren understand the purpose of Freemasonry. - Encouraging Lectures to be considered in place of ceremonies.
- Providing Historical Demonstrations from our new Provincial Demonstations Team
- Appointing Orators and Publishing official Orations for Lodge presentations.
- Looking at helping Lodges of Instruction with guidance and material.
- Cataloguing Library and Historical resources.
- Organising Officer Training.
